While spending most of the past decade working overseas, my love of sports, technology and creative evolution has allowed me to venture past what many consider to be “the standard.”

Pushing the boundaries is what drives me to excel in all aspects of the creative world. Without trend-setters, there would be no followers.

I am a sports journalist for a regional newspaper in my hometown of Dundalk, Co. Louth in Ireland. A massive MMA fan, I enjoy writing columns, articles and interviewing people involved with MMA when I get the chance to. A massive sports enthusiast, I am usually watching MMA or soccer, another sport I am passionate about.

I may not wake up in the morning pissing excellence like Rickey Bobby but that doesn’t stop me from trying. I’m a huge Mixed Martial Arts fan that grew up reading Black Belt Magazine, wrestling and watching Bruce Lee Movies. Over the past 16 years I have written and photographed for many U.S. Marine and Army publications but have now decide to venture out and write about something that I love, MMA.

I am your typical Cali born girl, raised in Miami. I am a loud mouthed, edgy Latina who speaks her mind and doesn’t apologize for it. My greatest passion in life is sports. I am a die hard fan of the San Fransisco 49′ers, but I have to say the day I was introduced to MMA my life changed. It is by far the ultimate sport and I cannot contain the excitement it brings to my life.

I am proud to be a contributor of the MMA community. My favorite fighter of all time is Georges St. Pierre. To me he is the epitome of what an MMA fighter should be.

I believe the greatest lesson in life is never be afraid to pursue your dreams, don’t be afraid to change anything that doesn’t make you happy.

 

Ken Hawke

Ken Hawke is an avid martial arts fan, and a passionate practitioner/competitor in several styles of martial arts. He currently holds the rank of black belt in Taekwondo, Kenpo, and Ninjitsu, and has competed in a variety of full contact tournaments, ranging from boxing, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu and MMA.

Ken has been practicing and competing in martial arts since the age of four, and has over 30 years of experience in martial arts training and instruction. Since the very first publically broadcasted MMA competition (UFC 1), Ken has intensely followed the world of mixed martial arts, and studied its evolution and rise to popular sports fame.

He now shares his passion for the competitive martial arts sports world through his writing, and hopes to expand the popularity and fan base of martial arts, by sharing his research, insight, and personal experiences.

 

J.C. Monkovian

J.C. is an MMA journalist based out of the East Bay Area. He was initially drawn to MMA because of the immense amount of pride that goes into the practice and execution of the sport. He strives to always respect the fighters while simultaneously delivering informative articles for the growing demographic. These fighters are constantly putting everything they love on the line to perform in front of millions of fans, but most importantly in front of their own families and hometowns. They dedicate their lives and a great majority of their time to their passion for Mixed Martial Arts and are in a constant battle to strive for excellence in the execution of their talent. He invest time and energy into understanding more about the inner workings of not just the sport, but the fighters, as well.

I began my show: Kamikaze Overdrive MMA Predictions in the summer of 2010 predicting UFC Live on Versus: Jones vs Matyushenko, finishing with a record of 2-2. I have produced my show ever since, covering every UFC event and major Strikeforce cards.

My goal is to become the most popular MMA prediction show on the web and greatly look forward to my new partnership with CouchFighter.
